DESCRIPTION:Le Jovilabe est un instrument d’astronomie inventé par Galilée au début du XVIIème siècle. Il permettait de prévoir les positions des satellites galiléens de Jupiter et ainsi de déterminer les instants d’occultations de ceux-ci par la planète géante. Il fut largement utilisé en géodésie\, cet appareil facilitant le calcul des longitudes.
